cave_music teaser video now online

The first realization of the cave_music performance installation project was funded by CMC Ontario's "New Music in New Places" grant, and took place in Bonnechere Caves in September 2009. CBC runs cave story, sparking animal rights debate

Readers concerned over bat welfare have posted comments on this CBC news story on cave_music. We assure you that no bats will be harmed during this project! The Bonnechere Caves are open to the public during the summer months, while the bats return to occupy the space for hibernation during the winter months.

cave_music: toy pianos in a cave

The Contemporary Keyboard Society will collaborate with Toronto composer Erik Ross on a very special project. We are pleased to announce that we were awarded the Canadian Music Centre New Music in New Places Series grant (Ontario Regional Office) to produce a concert/installation in the Bonnechere Caves, Renfrew County, Ontario. The performances take place at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the 26th of September 2009 with Katelyn Clark and Xenia Pestova, toy pianos; Erik Ross, electroacoustic soundscape.
